Happy New Year! This week we focused on getting back into a routine. We learned about fraction forms, proper and improper fractions, reviewed the moon phases by battling, began our sun dial work, had an assessment on democracy or the Atlantic region, wrote about a problem that has happened or is happening in our life, updated our current events, shaded with pencil crayons, became gymnasts, coding quest and different types of recorders.

We participated in the 2026 Olympic and Paralympics vote with Ms. Fitzpatrick, Ms. Raude and Ms. Swinton's classes today. 10 votes did not count because they were filled out incorrectly, 5 students choose not to vote, 41 were for and 37 were against. We may have not agreed with the citizens of Calgary, but it was engaging to be an adult even for a few moments.

Eco School 2018!
This week has been a week of firsts. We had our first Terry Fox goal meeting assembly. Where we learned that the school not only finished Terry's run, but also we raised over 4600.00 dollars. This means we get a choice week in Gym and 2 staff members had to change their hair style. Mr. Janzic shaved his head and Mr. Lang coloured his hair pink. We also got to go to our first Complementary Course. The Complementary Courses were educational, fun, relaxing, challenging, dramatic and inspiring.
